The Direct Dictation tool is designed to help you edit or add information to a note that has already been generated.
It can only be used after an encounter has been ended.
Can I dictate an entire encounter from start to finish?
No — Direct Dictation is not intended for full encounter recording.
If you wish to dictate a complete encounter:
Start a new encounter
Speak naturally to the AI during the session
End the encounter
AutoScribe will automatically structure the note according to the selected template.
This ensures the AI optimally processes and formats your information.
How to start using Direct Dictation
Place your cursor in the section of the Note clinique or Résumé patient where you want to add or edit text.
Click the “Start Dictation” button.
Begin speaking clearly — AutoScribe will transcribe exactly what you say, word-for-word.
The system will automatically insert punctuation based on natural pauses in your speech.
Reminder: Direct Dictation is a literal transcription tool — it does not interpret or reformat your speech like the full encounter mode.
How to stop dictation
Click the same button again (now labeled “Stop Dictation”).
AutoScribe will stop recording immediately.
Tips for Best Results
Speak in full sentences and pause naturally.
If an error occurs, simply place your cursor back at the desired location and continue dictating.
Use clear commands such as “new line” or “period” if needed.
