Starting an Encounter from the AutoScribe Web App
Step 1
Go to https://app.autoscribe.ca and click on “Start Listening” on the main page.
Step 2
Select the appropriate patient appointment, then click “Start Listening”.
Step 3
A prompt will appear asking you to confirm that you have obtained the patient’s verbal consent.
This is legally required to use AutoScribe with patient information.
Once confirmed, the encounter will begin and the transcript will start recording automatically.
Starting an Encounter through the PS Suite Toolbar
Step 1
In the patient’s chart, click “Launch New Encounter” from the AutoScribe toolbar.
Step 2
A new browser window will open in AutoScribe. You will be prompted to import the patient’s information.
Step 3
Click “Import” to link the patient’s EMR data to the encounter.
You will then be asked to confirm verbal consent from the patient.
Once confirmed, the encounter will begin and AutoScribe will start recording the conversation automatically.
Ending an AutoScribe Encounter
Step 1
When you are ready to end the encounter, click “End Encounter” at the top right of the page.
Alternatively, you may click “Pause Encounter” if you intend to resume later.
Step 2
Once you select “End Encounter”, recording will stop and AutoScribe will begin generating the clinical note using AI.
You may leave the page and proceed to other tasks while the note is being created. It will continue to process in the background.
Tip: If you choose Pause, you can resume the same encounter with the patient without starting a new session.
